Hilton
Head, SC with its proximity to the Atlantic

Winter in Hilton Head
- The mild climate of South Carolinas Coast
makes Hilton Head a year-round golf destination,

courses in the area! Most winter days, the temperatures
will warrant wearing a lightweight jacket. Winter
Carnival in Hilton Head is an off-season celebration
that sparkles throughout January and February with
concerts, arts and fun family events. The annual
Native Islander Gullah Celebration is an outstanding
festival celebrating the local black culture and
is almost a month-long feature of February events.
Winter sunsets may bring an unexpected chill to the
air. That can be easily remedied by settling down
to a warm and cozy romantic evening around a luscious
seafood dinner overlooking the water, a pleasurable
finale for a great day.
Spring in Hilton Head
- A perfect season for golf, garden tours and shopping.
Its spring in the Lowcountry, when the weather
is the most comfortable for outdoor non-swimming
activities and crowds remain light until the latter
part of the season. Spring in Hilton Head is delightful,
romantic and full of promise for a special trip!
Spring is officially ushered in at the yearly Hilton
Head Springfest which includes events from art shows,
kayak demonstrations, food fests and the St. Patricks
Day Parade at Coligny Circle. April brings the PGAs
Heritage Golf Classic to the Harbour Town Links,
an annual event that draws golf fans from around
the region. May introduces the famous Spoleto Festival
USA in Charleston, just a daytrip away from the islands.
Spring is an ideal season to visit Hilton Head and
environs.
Summer in Hilton Head -
Plan a day of fun in the sun! Make a week of it,
because theres so much to do. If the temperature
soars, take the plunge anywhere along Hilton Heads
twelve miles of oceanfront beaches or take out a
watercraft and explore the area. Most summer days
start with a warm sunny morning, perfect for an early
game of golf. The day then flows into a grand afternoon,
ideal for exploring the area. If there is a sprinkle,
go shopping at the fabulous Hilton Head Factory Outlets
or Shoppes Along the Parkway or plan a visit the
historic homes or museums in nearby Beaufort or Savannah.
Evenings usually bring on a breeze, which is conducive
to dining at one of the many waterfront venues. Youll
find a variety of ways to top off a fabulous day!
Autumn in Hilton Head
- Another perfect season for golf, shopping or enjoying
the finale of the summer season on the ocean. Starting
in early September, the Annual Hilton Head Island
Celebrity Golf Tournament brings in visitors for
Labor Day weekend. Later in the month and ongoing
through October are a series of food events including
FoodFest and A Chili Odyssey in Shelter Cove, and
the Shrimp Festival in Beaufort. Also in Beaufort,
the annual Fall Festival of Houses and History is
in late October, adding to the backdrop is the brilliant
fall foliage which remains a visual focal point well
into the season. Daytime temperatures are mild throughout
the season. A sweater or light jacket will suffice
for almost any activity, from Savannah sightseeing
to observing wildlife in the many preserves that
dot the region. The season opener for the upcoming
winter holidays is in mid November with the annual
Taste of the Season in Hilton Head. Visitors will
find anytime is a great time to visit Hilton head!
